There are several ways to clean self-adhesive window screens. You can choose the right cleaning method based on the degree of dirt and the material of the screen. Here are some common cleaning methods:
Daily Cleaning
Using a soft-bristled brush or old toothbrush: For dust and minor stains on the surface of the screen, gently scrub with a soft-bristled brush or old toothbrush. Be careful with the pressure when scrubbing to avoid damaging the screen.
Vacuuming: If the screen is heavily dusty, vacuum it. Hold the vacuum cleaner nozzle close to the screen and move slowly from side to side to effectively remove dust.
Deep Cleaning
Sponge Cleaning Method:
Prepare a clean sponge and an appropriate amount of detergent (such as neutral detergent or a specialized window screen cleaner).
Wet the sponge, squeeze out the excess water, and then apply a small amount of detergent.
Starting from one side of the screen, gently wipe the screen with the sponge, being careful to apply even pressure to avoid damaging the screen. After wiping, rinse the sponge with clean water and squeeze out the water. Then wipe the screen again to remove any remaining detergent.
Finally, wipe the screen dry with a dry cloth or paper towel.
Newspaper Wiping Method:
Wet an old newspaper and place it on the screen. Wait for a while for the moisture from the newspaper to penetrate the screen and soften the stain.
After the newspaper dries slightly, remove it. This will remove some of the stain from the screen.
Repeat the steps until the screen is clean. This method is suitable for lightly soiled screens.
Sprayer Rinsing Method:
Prepare a sprayer and an appropriate amount of clean water or detergent solution.
Set the sprayer to mist mode and spray the screen. Be sure to evenly cover the entire surface of the screen.
After spraying, wait a few minutes for the detergent to fully work.
Rinse the screen with clean water to remove any remaining detergent and stains. Gently scrub with a soft brush to enhance the cleaning effect. Finally, wipe off the moisture on the surface of the screen with a dry cloth or paper towel.
